Yvy's Pic-a-Day

{December 21, 2010}   Days 19 – 24…

Things got a bit hectic before our holiday to CT so I got distracted and stopped updating the blog.  Now we are here and I don’t have all the access to our pics and so on so I will have to come back and update later..but suffice to say we continued all the way to day 24 and the kids had an absolute ball with it.  We’ll definitely be doing this again next year :)

Day 19: We got tickets to go to Uncle Jumbo’s Christmas Party

Day 20: We gave each other crazy hair

Day 21: We made salads, had a braai and swam outside

Day 22: We made snoman soaps

Day 23: We drove around to look at Christmas lights

Day 24: We wrapped presents in preparation for our visit to Cape Town, and started packing!

{December 10, 2010}   Day 18 of 24…

Today all we had to do was put on our favourite music and dance around like crazy.

I didn’t get any pics as we were too busy having loads of fun!

{December 9, 2010}   Day 17 of 24…

On day 17 we got a cry for help!

Santa Clause is running out of time and asked Caeli and Jamie to help him by wrapping up some presents for their own friends!  Luckily they found a stash of presents, wrapping paper & labels that Santa had cleverly hidden in the chimney – and with great excitement they set to work!  They were so excited to wrap for their friends that they weren’t even disappointed that none of the presents were for them! What little stars :-)

{December 7, 2010}   Day 16 of 24…

Today we got to make a stocking for our gorgeous pup Jasmine!

The kids got to work with great excitement and now we can’t wait to fill the stocking for Christmas Day :)

{December 7, 2010}   Day 15 of 24…

This was possibly the most popular of all the tasks so far!

On day 15 the children were instructed to eat dessert *before* dinner!

They started off with a plate with a bisuits, some jelly babies, a marshmallow & a chocolate; and then progressed to having some pancakes and theeeeen finished off with mac ‘n cheese :)

They went to bed very happy!

{December 7, 2010}   Day 14 of 24…

On day 14 Santa asked us to make mistletoe, hang it up in the house and kiss underneath it.
Sadly I didn’t get many photo’s of it as my camera battery kept dying, but needless to say we had great fun making it and kissing under it.

{December 4, 2010}   Day 13 of 24…

Today’s was a super fun task! Today – with loads of sellotape, giggles, tissue paper, fun & ornaments we decorated a human christmas tree :)

{December 4, 2010}   Day 12 of 24…

This was another fairly easy task – but the kids loved it!  We spent an age making loads and loads of paper chains as decorations!

{December 2, 2010}   Day 11 of 24…

Today didn’t quite work as planned.  We were supposed to write a christmas story, line by line, as a family – but Leon ended up working late and Jamie fell asleep half way through dinner, so that left Caeli and me!  Caeli was so excited to tackle the project that we decided to go ahead without the boys with the understanding that we’d always be able to do it again in a few days if the right opportunity presents itself.

We got a lovely little story out of it and Caeli had so much fun decorating it too!

{December 2, 2010}   Day 10 of 24…

On day 10 we spent a lovely evening around the christmas tree with candles on, singing christmas carols.

It was great fun and Santa even threw some chocolates at for us in appreciation of our vocals.

Caeli especially loves “I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus” it has her in fits of giggles every time, and Jamie loves “Little Donkey (shall I beat him with a big stick? Oh dear no!”) Was such a special evening with loads of fun and laughter.
